What is a NAP Tax Credit? Simply put, it is a way to reduce the amount of income tax you owe the State of Indiana. OCLN applied for and received tax credits from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority's Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). The tax credits are used as an incentive to attract donors. Here's how it works: For a donation of $100 or more a donor can receive half of the donation amount as a credit when filing their Indiana State Tax Return. Here's an example: Donation to OCLN: $500 Amount you can subtract from what you owe the State: $250 To take advantage of the tax credit: Mail a donation of at least $100 to OCLN, PO Box 603, Spencer, IN 47460 and note that you want a NAP tax credit. NOTE: - It doesn't matter if you file a long form or short form
- This is a credit, not a deduction
- Individuals and businesses are both eligible
- Credits are distributed on a first come, first served basis until they are gone
